Appointment
NEW AND REGULAR APPOINTMENTS
I encourage all clients to set up a repeating weekly session time. Weekly appointments for individuals generally last for 50 minutes or for 90 minutes for treatment of PTSD or Complex Trauma, but depending on a client’s needs, and particularly for personality issues and complex trauma it may be beneficial to meet for a double session or more intensively.
INITIAL CONSULTATIONS
The initial consultation is about exploring your needs and how I may be able to help you in a relaxed, open and confidential way. Feel free to raise any issues or questions concerning you. I will ask you some questions, but the session is not a test and rather will be more of an informal conversation.
It is a way for you to get to know me and for me to get a sense of understanding of how we can work together to achieve your goals. If you decide to go forward with therapy together, we can discuss progressing with weekly 50-minute therapy or intensive PTSD/Complex trauma therapy of 90-minutes each session.
Sometimes clients will come to me who have issues that are more within another therapist’s area of expertise. If this is the case, I will offer to refer them to another therapist.
Hours by Appointment
Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 10am-3pm
Thursdays: 10am to 7pm
Fridays: 9.30am-1.30pm
If this is a crisis or emergency call 999 or speak to the Samaritans by calling: 116 123.
Cancellations and Breaks
Weekly therapy attendance is very important to progress. A slot is booked in advance for the meeting. I appreciate as much notice of cancellation as possible. Any missed sessions or cancellations will be charged at the full fee unless at least 48 hours notice is provided in advance, except in the case of illness or emergency.
I have a set of terms and conditions (including a cancellation policy) which will be shared with you before or during your first session.
Note: I do not give extensive advice or do therapy over text or by email. If you need to talk between appointments please feel free to schedule an additional appointment during the week.
Any Other Questions
Please contact me for any additional questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you!
