Can I Book an EMDR Block in London?

Can I Book an EMDR Block in London?

If you already know that you want to begin EMDR, a structured block of sessions can offer a focused and contained way to start trauma work.

Many people look for EMDR when something remains unresolved despite time, insight or previous therapy. They may understand what happened intellectually, but still feel it in the body: panic, numbness, shame, fear, nightmares, intrusive memories, avoidance, hypervigilance or a sense of being pulled back into the past.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, is a structured trauma therapy that helps the brain and nervous system process distressing experiences that have not been fully integrated. It is often used for PTSD, but may also be helpful for other memories, losses, humiliations, relational injuries or frightening experiences that still feel emotionally alive.

Why Book EMDR as a Block?

I do not usually offer EMDR as a one-off session. Trauma work needs time, containment and clinical responsibility. The first session is not simply about beginning reprocessing immediately. It is also about understanding your history, assessing suitability, identifying targets, building stabilisation and deciding whether EMDR is the right approach at this time.

For clients who already know they would like to begin EMDR, I offer structured EMDR blocks in Harley Street and online:

  • 3 × 90-minute EMDR Intensive Block — for focused work, often where there is a clearly defined trauma or target.
  • 6 × 90-minute EMDR / Trauma Therapy Block — for trauma work requiring more time for preparation, processing and integration.

The first 90-minute appointment is the initial consultation and the first session within the block. This means that assessment, formulation and treatment planning are built into the beginning of the work.

Who Might an EMDR Block Suit?

An EMDR block may be suitable if there is a particular trauma, memory, incident, period of time or emotional wound that you know you want to work on. This may include an accident, assault, medical trauma, traumatic loss, relationship trauma, frightening event, public humiliation, or a memory that still feels charged years later.

For more complex trauma, childhood trauma or C-PTSD, EMDR may still be helpful, but often needs a slower and more relationally sensitive frame. In those cases, a six-session block or longer-term psychotherapy may be more appropriate than a brief intensive.

EMDR in Harley Street and Online

I offer EMDR therapy in the Harley Street Medical District and online where clinically appropriate. Some clients prefer to work in person because the consulting room provides a separate and containing space. Others prefer online EMDR because it allows them to begin trauma work from a familiar environment.

The most important question is not only where the work takes place, but whether EMDR is clinically suitable, carefully paced and held within a thoughtful therapeutic relationship.

Book an EMDR Block

If you are ready to begin EMDR, you are welcome to select either a 3-session or 6-session EMDR block when booking. The first 90-minute appointment is the initial consultation and the first session within the block.
